2009 Work Session M1/M2

August 19, 2009. Removal of the old wood on the box car roofs went relatively quickly. Since the box cars were not to be restored to their historical condition or appearance, the new exterior roof would be plywood covered with roll roofing. This photo shows the plywood decking complete on the car in the distance, and almost complete on the car in the foreground. The stringers are being screwed down on the car in the middle. On the right, the spare trucks and wheelsets have been moved to the west end of the track to be ready for loading onto a highway truck for shipment to Chama. Photo by Roger Breeding.
